If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started with a dream and a mouse.
posted by: VixenThe Mission- Eight days at Disney World, three kiddos, one teenager and 2 adults. Two suites. Two hour time difference. And heat. Lots and lots of heat combined with humidity….. The recap:
- Two days at Disney World
- LM is tall enough to ride ALL the rides. WOOT!
- Hooters (yum!)
- Space Mountain is by FAR everyone’s favorite.
- LM has *no* fear and will attempt anything. *shaking head* (I see good…and bad in this, lol)
- Shuttle rides are long. Hot. Humid. And when it rains (which was every afternoon/evening), lack air conditioning. (gah!)
- It’s HOT. And HUMID.
- It rains. A LOT. (every afternoon) And HARD. It’s insane. I’ve never experienced that much rain in that short of time. It would start and with in a minute you would be *soaked*.

- Chevy’s (yum! We don’t have those)
- Sea World (woot!) By far the most hot, humid, miserable day. Rained several times.

- Shamu Rocks! (the show) was AWESOME.
- Children regretted decision to sit in “SPLASH ZONE” after already being drenched in rain storm AND it becoming dark (doh!)
- Tony Roma’s has THE. BEST. mango-strawberry margaritas E.V.E.R! Salmon wasn’t bad either ~wink~
- Epcot was….Epcot. As PC pointed out, it was worth visiting once. THIS RIDE kicked *ass*. (Poor PC missed it after waiting in a 70plus minute line, one of the kiddos wasn’t as excited as we were to ride it).
- THIS RIDE sucked ass. (…menolikey….I am extremely claustrophobic combined with the ‘simulation’ part….:::puke:::…)
- Coco beach is very cool.
- Ron Jon is VERY VERY VERY cool. We (meaning PC’s niece and I) could have spent an entire day in there. Bummer it was an hour away from the hotel (damnit).
- Shopping at Downtown Disney was….chaotic. And crowded. But
worth doing, definitely. Each of the 3 kids managed to find what their
heart desired (and ironically enough we could have guessed what
each would pick, lol…I was able to focus LM’s attention on
something other than the $65 pirate costume he wanted *cough* …storm trooper guns are SO muchless expensivecooler *wink*)
- Daytona Beach was sunny and kept us out of the rain for the first day since we arrived (I mean it rained at the hotel/parks the entire day….but never at Daytona, SAH-WEET!)
- Time difference totally screwed with us. ie- woke up at funky
times, ate at weird ass times, went to bed at even weirder times. *shrug* - Only sucky things to speak of besides the daily rain showers (and insane, icky heat Wednesday) was the intermittent internet (annoying) and nasty coffee (barf…and hey. That is A LOT coming from me, lol!).
- Oh. A coffee chain should so totally hit Downtown Disney. It’s a sad thing when the only place you can get specialty coffee is from the ONE Dunkin Donuts. I think that should be my next business adventure. ~grins~
Even ducks go on vacation! Mr and Mrs Duck taking a dip.
We took over two hundred pictures over the eight days. LM was almost always at my side and rode all the rides with me. LP and PC’s son were fairly inseparable. When they weren’t he was spending time with his daddy. PC’s ex was promised I wouldn’t ever post pictures of their son here. So, all of those things combined caused me to be able to a) post very few pictures of LP, b) post very few pictures of PC, c) post very pictures of the kids or all of us. I also decided that I had so many great beach shots, that I will hold off and post those next wk.

Rain aside, looks like a great vacation! We love Disney – I look forward to my son being tall enough for all the rides. I’m not holding my breath for my girl though. At 3.5 years she’s still in 18 month clothes.
My in-laws have a condo south of Daytona, about 1/2 between Daytona and the Space Center. We’ll be able to go there a lot more after the kids and I get moved to South Carolina.
Good for you for honoring the boy’s mother’s request. Keeping the peace with his mother will make boy’s life much easier. It’s great that he and LP get along so well.

It did the same thing with rain when we were there in April! But aside from the rain, the kiddos had a fabulous time and yes, space mountain was the kick-ass ride with all of us too and wasn’t so much liking the space mission thing for the same reason… Glad you had a great time!

Seriously, I can’t believe how BIG the kids are. Holy CRAP.
I have to sit down and look at your pics still – hopefully I can do that today. :)
