What do you do when you realize all your dreams have come true?
posted by: VixenGood news…Bad news…… Wedding recap (official)
(Thanks to SR, my sister and Os, I have pictures to post….otherwise you would get just a recap, lol)
Bad news-
By Saturday morning I had still not talked to the DJ. Despite numerous attempts to contact him. I had spoken with the company and had been promised on several occasions he would call me.
He didn’t. And hadn’t.
Good news-
And actually I think I did a really excellent job not freaking out about this. Meanwhile PC did what PC does best, he came up with a back up plan to alleviate my (quickly rising) anxiety and panic attack over this.
Bad news-
Us girls arrive at the B&B at our scheduled time only to find out they are with out power.
Oh.
The B&B owner asks us if we have a back up plan.
Um. WHAT THE FUCK KIND OF BACK UP PLAN!?!?!? ……like…..we have it at Pizza Hut instead!??!?!
….:::breathe in, breathe out:::….
My sister who had a better head on her shoulders, was smart enough to ask WTH what exactly he meant by that.
Good news-
He meant did we have an alternative place to get dressed and ready. Pointing out that with out power, the air conditioning wouldn’t be working and the place was going to get very hot. Very soon.
OH! *whew* No. That was the least of my concerns at that moment. I was thinking farther ahead. Like how on earth the chef would prepare the meals?! How the DJ (if he bothered to show) would play music?!
Although. It was somewhat difficult to apply make up in a room lit only by several windows. But it worked.

(my ever so loverly sister- and Maid of Honor- and I….I freaking LOVE her)
Bad news-
Better for us than the guys. While we had a very nice upstairs with two open windows letting in (some) light and (a little) air. The boys would be getting ready in a (normally) very cool room in the basement. But uh, it didn’t have windows. Or ventilation. And well, basically was a dungeon with out power. DOH.
We had been having record breaking heat. Over twenty straight days above 90. More like the high 90′s to be exact. The day before at the exact same time the wedding (outdoors) was to begin…it had been 105. One…Hundred…Five……degrees. Seriously.
It was looking like it was going to be another day like the day before (and the one before that and the one before that…..). Although I really hadn’t drank that much the night before, we had hot tubbed late and I think that and the heat caught up with me. I felt slightly better than death warmed over. Nice. *puke*
Good news-
Diet coke and a handful of Ibuprofen, paired with flipping my layers and layers of crinolin, taffeta and dress pretty much over my head (seriously….) helped IMMENSELY. thankfuckinggod.
(insert totally embarassing pictures I am choosing not to post, lolol)
The Dj showed up.
Bad news-
Course he didn’t know any of the bridal party names….or what songs to play for the ceremony and when. But I mean, how would he? SEEING HE NEVER FUCKING CALLED ME!!!
Good news-
The weird wind we were having went away. The weird spitting rain stopped. Some clouds moved in. Making it VERY pleasant outside. YAY!
SR’s husband took up a newfounded career as “wedding coordinator” and rocked it in a serious way. He was *instrumental* as the ‘go to’ guy…. Delivering the cake, coordinating things with the flakey-but-thank-god-he-showed DJ, etc. *MUAH* ….we love him!!!
I didn’t trip walking down the stairs to the garden during the ceremony. WOOT!
Bad news-
I smashed my RING finger 3 days before the wedding, moving a heavy metal grate. Although I had taken the tons of Ibuprofen earlier. During the ring ceremony PC couldn’t get the ring over my swollen knuckle. Which resulted in an awkward giggling moment. Eh. Could have been worse. (lol)

(Os took this photo and I swear to GAWD it’s professional quality! SR designed these for me….she fucking ROCKS!!!)
****
Ok. Enough of that. There are like updates and recaps all over the place (see Os, PC, SR….). It was small and intimate. Exactly what we wanted and very ‘us’. The food was TDF. The owner of the B&B/chef is renowned for his cooking. And oh good lord we were NOT disappointed. The flakier-than-thou-dj did a pretty good job (besides him complaining towards the end about how he wished he could pack up and go home….rolling eyes…). The kiddos had THE. BEST. TIME. It was cute. When the night wound down and many people had left, kiddos went for a sleep over with NN (my mom), the real fun naughtiness began.
Dancing.
Silliness.
(LOLOL….See, Os totally down with it! ~wink~)

(um….another angle of the girls *snort*)
Aforementioned naughtiness.

In the words of one of the waitstaff the next morning….“I think everyone was under that dress at some point!” LOLOLOL
*shaking head* But to point out, this person IS my husband! ;)
And then some of us (ahem) stayed up later than others. Some of us had their week catch up with us and went to bed earlier than usual (ahemusahem). But. Yeah. It kicked ass.

See the way he looks at me??? Reason #1,091 why I love him so much.
…:::happy sigh:::…
…tons more pics to come from my photographer… I will post a few when I can. Many of them included kiddos too (I have an *incredible* one of the family with all the kiddos) and I just can’t post those here with out over stepping boundaries…..

That waitstaff quote is hilarious! So…should we ask Os what you were wearing under the dress? ;) j/k
That look is awesome. I miss those looks (well, not from him of course).

I don’t want to blow my own horn, but that picture of you placing his ring is downright poster-worthy. Especially after SR’s treatment!
And to respond to TUG–I know exactly what she was wearing underneath! (don’t you?)

Yes, I should totally have said that Os took that picture of me placing the ring on PC’s hand. It’s an *AMAZING* picture. Absolutely professional photography level.

Actually, all these pictures were either taken by SR, my sister or Os. Thanks to them having cameras I have pictures to share, lol.
