How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…
posted by: VixenI am one of the few people who actually likes Valentines Day. I know many people think it’s a silly overly commercialized holiday used to take advantage of consumers by card and candy companies , asking why you need one day to show your loved ones you love them, why not do it every day of the year.
The only thing I have to say to this is, of course you should show the ones you love how much you love them year round. But what is wrong with one day where you go out of your way, to take some extra time, put some extra effort to do something special for them? I don’t see what is wrong with that. Really, if you begin down that path then we may as well get rid of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and hell Birthdays. Bc the purpose behind those are the same idea.
I dunno. I think it’s a sweet/fun holiday. And not just because I have someone like PC (who incidentally is a fucking rockstar when it comes to the mushy, gushy stuff). Before PC, I always enjoyed it for/with the kiddos. *shrug*
Anyway (lol)…
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!
~xo

I like it too and agree with you wholeheartedly. Yeah, it’s commercial, but let’s face it – everything good eventually becomes popular, and our economic society will eventually find a way to profit from it. Does it mean you have to stop liking it? Besides, you can still celebrate Valentines without giving in to the commercialism – there are ways ;-).

i agree, valentines day is just a good reason to do something special with a loved one. it doesn’t require large gifts or anything like that, just some quality time and attention. i love it also. this is my first year in 17 where i don’t have a valentine. it’s ok though, the kids are here. :)
happy valentines day! pretty pretty pics vixen.

I am happy getting rid of those “holidays.” If I could keep one, I’d pick birthdays. A birthday is at least a celebration of an anniversary (I support those too).
And since today is Sunday, I am going to take my three Valentines (daughters and girlfriend) to a yummy lunch.
