Saturday I took LP and my oldest niece (they are a year and a half apart) to see The Veronica’s. LP and I are both HUGE fans of them and when I found out they were coming to concert several months ago we were super excited. The unfortunate part was the venue they played at wasn’t the greatest. Their sound system sucked ass. It was like listening to your favorite song turned up too loud on a crappy stereo system. Despite that, the girls and I had a really good time. It was an enjoyable day.
PC also flew his son back home. He had been staying with us for the last 6wks. He normally comes in smaller intervals, several different times each summer. But this summer we decided to try a longer time frame. It went amazingly well and was a ton of fun to have him for so long. There is this huge void with him gone. *sigh*
The bestest news of all is that Mick is continuing to get better with each day. It was awfully dicey last week and honestly, I was afraid to get my hopes up. For so long he was so sick and it seemed everything we tried only made him marginally better. And as he became this shell of a dog and remained that way, it was upsettingly easy to forget the little happy quirks that make me love him so much. That is until he’s slowly coming back to his old self…. How when he comes up onto the bed first thing in the morning, he lays across my chest to nuzzle my face. The cute/weird positions he lays in, which we have dubbed his ‘hit-by-car- yogo moves’. Or when he greets me with his ‘hugs’ by gently jumping up with his paws on my waist so I can scratch his ears and press my face to his. He has been severely missed and having him ‘back’ reminds me of what I wasn’t allowing my heart to remember.
Hope everyone had a killer weekend. Happy Monday!
