This whole being laid up thing is really starting to get to me.  I don’t do well when I can’t run.  Much less when I can barely walk or go anywhere or do anything.  This reminds me of when I broke my ankle freshman year of HS by stepping off a flight of stairs two steps short of the landing (#345 on Vixen’s ever growing and *long* list of ‘stupid/klutziest moments’).  THAT was fun.  NOT.  I’m finding it incredibly hard to not fall face first into a funk bc I have nothing that I can do to clear my head but sit.  Oh but wait.  And sex!  Ok, that actually does help.  [grins] 

Watched a most disturbing and fucked up movie, Surveillance.  Seriously it was.  But in a sick, twisted, can’t stop watching it, gotta know how it ends sort of a way.  I’d recommend it if you like thriller/drama/murder/mystery’s.  It’s good, just really fucked up.

The highlight of the weekend was totally yummy sushi at my favorite sushi restaurant Saturday night.  Mmmm……  Veggie Tempura Rolls.  *drool*

So.  New week.  I had to cancel on a commitment I made to LM’s teacher to help out last Friday bc of my stupid injury.  I was *hoping* to be up to it by Monday and I guess I’m just being completely moronic and/or unrealistic…..  *frustrated SIGH*

So both the highlight and the lowlight of this week was the Nickelback concert.  The show featured Saving Abel (which unfortunately due to traffic we missed most of, but they saved their best for last and we were able to hear our favorite song by them), Papa Roach (not really a band I love- though PC does- but they sounded REALLY good live), Hinder (this was our second time seeing them and I was a bit disappointed, I didn’t like ANY of their newer songs, I was happy when they played a few songs off their older album before leaving the stage) and then Nickelback.  Who were AWESOME.  They put on a fabulous show, were very personable and interactive.  We drank and danced and people watched and sang along.  SUCH a great time.

The lowlight of the evening came after wards.  When oh….let’s call this “Vixen’s stupidest moment yet”, happened.  Funny story though, kind of.   My sister laughed her ass off when I told her about it the next morning.  PC, not so much.  With out embarassing myself too much the recap consists of needing to use the bathroom (badly), an embankment, a nasty ditch/river filled with water and getting multiple shards of broken glass in the underside of my foot.  PC refers to it as a replayed scene from “My Bloody Valentine”.

*sigh*

Which landed us a fun little trip to Urgent Care and me off my feet for two days.  I’m such a rockstar ~groan~  I hear the good news is that foot/hand wounds heel quickly and I’m on very aggressive antibiotics.  The bad news is who knows when I will get to run again. (damnit to hell!)  PC has taken awesome care of me, also stepping up to help fill responsibilities I committed to but was unable to fulfill.  …..like the incredible husband he is (*swoon*).  LP has done a great job helping with the animals.  My family rocks.

Anyway.  It’s the weekend, party on, make it a good one!  I’ll be spending mine recuperating.

I *adore* Sunflowers. They are quite possibility one of my very favorite flowers. And what I love about this time of year is that it’s when the Sunflowers bloom. In our neck of the woods they are everywhere. They grow along side our roads, in our pastures and yards and bc we live in a farming community, there are fields of them everywhere you look. It’s beautiful to drive past a field of them in the mornings and see all their ‘faces’ basking in the sun.

You all are going to be sooooo jealous when I tell you who I spent my Saturday with. ~wink~ 

Barefoot Dreamer!  Anyone who follows her blog knows her and her family have been on a vacation/road trip.  When I found out she was going to be near my neck of the woods I stalked her down wooed her into hooking up.  So Saturday her family and mine met in Estes Park to spend the day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP).  It’s one of my favorite places to go.  Six kiddos and four adults….we were most definitely out numbered, lol.  We hiked around the lake and then most of the way up to some falls.  The kids (all of them under 10yrs) were complete troopers!  Hell, even BD and her hubby’s (who is hubba hubba hot btw, they make a gorgeous couple!) stamina was impressive in our exceptionally high altitude.  We had a most excellent time!

LP and I went to see The Proposal on Sunday.  I’d been dying to see it and am SO glad we made the effort to go.  SUPER cute and funny.  Absolutely *loved* it.  Before the movie we ran into an old acquintance, pre-divorce.  Which always makes for some super fun and uncomfortable moments…  (gah)  The last time I ran into her was equally uncomfortable, she is one of those people that if I were describe what she does, I would say that she has babies.  She’s since had one more, bringing the total to 6 kiddos.  Interesting family, she’s an amazing mother.  Too bad friendships fail with marriages.  *sigh*  Oh well.

In the meantime, Halloween is a BIG thing for us in our household. LM has been searching for/thinking/talking about his upcoming costume, searching through magazines, both new and old that we either had or have arrived in the mail for the possible ‘PERFECT’ costume for months.  He is Halloween *obsessed*….  I admit though, he comes by it honestly.  I have literally been obsessing thinking about this upcoming Halloween since last Halloween.  I have it narrowed down to two costumes.  I actually HAD the perfect costume plan all year until I stumbled upon THE. MOST. FABULOUS. SHOES. EVER. Sunday.  It has opened up the possibility for so much more!!!  *biting lip*  How to choose?!  BTW, the choices are bwtn a Burlesque Dancer and a Pin-Up Swim suit model….  (I’m not including links bc like I want to give anyone ELSE ideas!!!  I pride myself in having unique, awesome costumes and I don’t want to relive LAST YEARS issue.  DOH!)

My roommate and I once:
went dancing….  as in, every single weekend for an entire summer.  Fun times…..

Never in my life have I:
sky dived.  And nor will I.  HA!

High school was:
Not something I would ever want to do again….  I can barely even remember who that person was.  It’s so far from who ‘me’ is now.

When I’m nervous:
I chew the inside of my lip.  Bad, bad habit.

My hair:
Is taking FOREVER to grow out!  Gah….  When I wanted it short I was having to go in like very 4wks to get it cut, now that I want it long again it’s growing sooooooo. sloooooooooow.

When I was 5:
My mother gave me a pixie cut that made me look like a boy.  F-U-G-L-Y

When I turn my head left:
I feel the fan.

I should be:
…..nothing.  It’s 11:00 at night.  Kids are asleep in bed.  Dishwasher running.  Laundry going.  Ah….. ME TIME.
