TMI Tuesday…no, seriously. (and TFT)

So. About a year after I had LM (he’s almost 7 people…counting?) I began suffering symptoms of what I thought was PMDD (a nice way of saying pyschotic crazy bitch hoping not to bleed to death). I HATE hormones. So….I decided to try to treat it more naturally….with not so great luck. I have sucked it up and lived as a crazy psychotic crazy person who hopes not to bleed to death suffered through it month after month for years.
((((my family and friends))))
Fast forward to this last year, when I hit up my GYN for some answers. Turns out it’s a lot more than just PMDD AND there is a solution other than a hysterectomy (which has been my other option). I can be fixed! So Tuesday morning I go in at the crack ass of dawn for an outpatient ‘surgery/thing/procedure’ (Endometrial Ablation). So totally NOT excited to have surgery and the risks have been discussed *deep breaths* but really the benefits outweigh all of it. HUGELY, like in a life altering way. The idea that I might feel NORMAL (you know as I can and still be the neurotic/OCD me ~wink~) sounds fabulous. Poor PC has has had his concerns. He’s voiced how he hoped it didn’t change my personality too much. Um….really, a more stable, less emotional, less psychotic-bitch-like Vixen doesn’t appeal to you!?!? Because it sure does to me! *LOL!*

I actually got a pretty good break from my allergies while out in California. Not sure if it was all the tequila or they truly WERE better. Haha… No, they really were. AND we spent the majority of the time outside. But fuck if they aren’t back with a vengence not even twenty-four hours after being back. Seriously! *sigh*

Good Luck Vixen…and be careful I had an Aunt who had one of those once and she ended up with and extra vagina!

Good vibes your way. And if tequila is the cure for allergies, I need to go get some right now!

I hope it all goes well today! A blogger friend that we both know had this procedure last year (I’m pretty sure it was the same thing) and she’s been very happy with the outcome.

Good luck. My cousin is studying to be a PA just told me about that the other day. She said the whole thing takes something like 90 seconds. I wanted to go for it, but because I don’t have kids they won’t let me do it yet. ::sigh::

Good luck with the procedure!
And for what it’s worth, I think I have PMDD too. My hormones are CRAZY. :(

MR- actually it’s not that simple and breezy of a procedure. I had to be completely anesthetized to be operated on and it took about 45mins to perform, with week plus recovery time.
Maybe a different procedure you are thinking of? If it were that simple I might have done this sooner! 90seconds, I wish! :)

I had NovaSure (a particular type of endometrial ablation) done in September and it has been WONDERFUL!!! I recovered quickly and haven’t had a period since. After years of heavy bleeding (flooding) and anemia, I can live like a normal person. Hopefully for me it will also mean having sex without bleeding, though when my husband will be willing to take it for a test run is anybody’s guess (my usual complaint). I still get a little hormonal for a couple days each month, but without the bloating and cramping I had before. After all, the ovaries are still doing their thing, meaning the hormones are still being released.
VixenI hope your uterine lining cooking works as well as mine did :-)

Bunny- YES! That is my hope too. I’m glad to hear you had such great luck with it. I’m very hopeful this is my key :)

The actual frying of the uterine lining only takes about 90 seconds. It’s the D&C (scraping out the pumpkin)they do first and then going back and looking around the uterus (hystereoscopy) to make sure everything looks good and burned that takes all the time. I didn’t even have much pain after. The doc prescribed me OxyContin (seriously!?!!) and I didn’t even take it. Ibuprofen 800s were even a bit much. Regular OTC tylenol worked for me within a day or so.
