On the Banana Rum.  Amazed at how many people either hadn’t heard of it or flat out despised it. Really?!  I’m a HUGE fan of the stuff.  Rum in general, not so much. I’m that lush person that has over-indulged in quite a few liquors over the years to the point that the thought of most of them make me want to puke.  Rum is one of them.  Used to live on the stuff.  Do you have any idea how many different flavors of rum there are?!  Malibu, Vanilla, Spiced, Coconut, Banana….  My favorite of them all that I can still occasionally enjoy- Banana.  If I were to choose a simple pool side drink to be brought by a hot waitress, it would be Banana Rum with Diet Coke.  Mmmm….  It’s pretty much what I lived off of while in Jamaica (bc their already warm-ish beer, drank while sitting in the heat is *pukey*, take my word for it), both times.  YUM.

Thursday was LM’s birthday.  He turned seven.  SEVEN.  Which is like….crazy to me that my youngest is now seven years old….  I jumped through hoops for this kid… medical, life changing ones.  Two devastating miscarriages, three plus months of bedrest, emergency induction at 34weeks, beyond high maintenance- cried unless he was held all. the.time, ruined marriage….  Funny (not in a haha way, but in an ironic one) that the one thing that made my life complete and finally drew me out of the deep depression I had fallen in for over a year… that ultimately ruined my marriage was this child.  BUT I wouldn’t change a moment or choice I made.  It all happened for a reason.  And this reason is him.

Crickets chirping.  Lilacs blooming.  Warm summer nights.  I’m in heaven.  I live for this time of year.  And summer is officially here, I say, despite the crazy ass weather.  Pool is open, Elitches as well, passes to both bought….road trip in just over a week.  Another less than two weeks later.  Summer break has only just began and I feel as if we’ve planned it away.  But with the way the kiddos have been at each others throats this last week, that may not be a bad thing.  A busy, entertained child is one less likely to be driving me to drink.  Oh, shut up, like I need an excuse to drink.  ~wink~

We had a snow day this past week.  70 degrees Monday.  Drizzle at noon on Tuesday which turned into heavy, wet spring snow within the hour.  It DUMPED.  That’s spring for ya.  Here anyways. I knew school would be canceled. I actually went away for the night.  Was surprised by a text from Yummy half way through the day.  A text with an invite….that I wasn’t going to pass up.  Patron and a hotel room.  Mmmm….  See?!  *grins*  Anyway, so being the rockin’ husband and good dad that PC is, he dealt with the kiddos and the snow.  And calling the school cancellation phone line I’d left him the number for.  And getting the kiddos to the bus.  Which never came.  Bc despite the hot line NOT being updated, school really was canceled.  Doh.  But hey, by noon it was sun-shiney and quickly melting.  Told ya, SPRING!

I know I keep teasing about it, and have dropped hints/pics as the week has progressed but fuck, I’ve been a bit busy recuperating playing catch up.  It will post the big recap from Roxy’s birthday get away this weekend, I promise!

In the meantime, it’s my other most favoritest girl in the whole wide world’s birthday.  My sister!  She’s my confidant, partner in crime, fellow lover of Coors Light AND the person who feeds my shoe obsession.  Haha!

It’s the weekend and the first official day of the kiddos spring break.  Please oh please let the weather hold out so I can entertain them outdoors more so than INDOORS, or even more so…be stuck at home!

Both kiddos had their first soccer games this weekend.  Which leads me to my next thought.  WTF is up with some parents?!?!  There should be a ‘parents must refrain from being asshats’ disclosure before you can attend any of your kids games.  Seriously.  PC and I decided to tag team the kids games this wkend and bwtn the things he overheard and the parents I had to deal with, it makes me question why we encouraged our kids to even be in organized sports.  We are talking about 10 and 6 year olds here.  Gah…  I can guarantee you that if anyone makes nasty ass comments about our kids like they were to some of the other kids, shit is going to go down.  Ridicilousness I’m telling you.

PC had a pretty good birthday I think, despite both of us being sick all weekend.  He treated us to Starbucks, which has become a nice thing to look forward to on Sundays.  Yes, yes, I know, HE should have been treated but YOU try telling him no when he insists on something at 7am  (lol).  LP threw him a tea party.  She had been planning it for over a week and was beyond estatic to do that for him.  Awww…. (Hehe)  I don’t have pictures of that.  BUT what I was fortunate to get a picture of was dinner at Hooters when the girls made him climb up on a chair and shake his tail feathers.  Anyone who remembers his bday downtown two years ago, can recall him attempting to chug beer and hoola hoop at Coyote Ugly.  As he puts it- his hips are directly connected to his shoulders, so he doesn’t have much wiggle to his hips.  *snort*  Still horribly cute to see.  And the best part was that he played along in the first place.  ~wink~

The recap! Hey, it only took me almost a week to put one up. DOH! LOL

Day 1:
We got in Thursday afternoon.  PC had an unavoidable business meeting in San Diego that we left him to attend and SR, her hubby and I had a long lunch and beers.  Later that night the real drinking began.  PC is under the impression that Tattoo is like fine wine.  *snort*

SR’s HH (Hottie Hubbie) mixes our first drinks.  Tattoo and Coke (Diet Coke for me, hehe).  Supposedly it tastes like Dr Pepper.  PC says no.  I’m a beer gal 99% of the time, I say no too.  Whatever, it’s all good.

It got *chilly* so HH makes a bonfire.  Good friends.  Drink in hand.  Bonfire.  Good times in the making!

We ended the evening by binging on yummy white veggie pizza from Domino’s at something like midnight bc the first pizza that came was a gelatinated pepperoni *gag* pizza delivered by accident.  Whatever.  We got TWO LARGE veggie pizza’s out of it!  SCORE!

Toes!  We’re such girls! (SR and I, to clarify, lmao!)

Day 2:
HH ‘surprised’ everyone with massages.  I’ve occasionally mentioned it but I have *HUGE* OCD issues with someone else touching me.  I can’t explain it.  You would think I would love something like that.  LOL!  Right?!  But it freaks me out.  So after I had a mini anxiety attack, I sucked it up and had my first massage.  Besides realizing that bc I never rarely wear panties under my jeans, I would have to lie um….nekkid for my first anxiety ridden experience of someone unknown rubbing their hands all over me…..it was great!  Haha~!  Will I get it done again?  Mmmm….probably no.  In all seriousness though, it was very sweet of HH to do that for everyone. 

That night we went to a real live *LOL* California Winery.

S’k, we made/there were lots of other yummy dishes without bacon/meat that just weren’t photographed.  Just to like clarify, lol.

Day 4:
I’ll save you the random penis shots that ended up on my camera.  *ahem*  And probably, thankfully for you all, there are no pictures of the ‘aftermath’ the next day.  The hang over pictures.  Driving almost two hours to the airport after having spend the morning praying I wouldn’t puke.  Then the almost three hour flight that consisted of insane turbulence that brought up old memories of wanting to puke earlier on.  Ah……good times.

But we all survived and damned if I wouldn’t do it again every weekend next month when it’s River season!

Look for more ‘Ronald escapades’ to come.  *snort*  I have enough of his adventures to post weekly.  Kind of my own “Where’s Ronald”.

Awww….spring time in the rockies.  Saturday consisted of cold temps and snow flurries that never amounted to much of anything.  Sunday we had temps near 60, sun shining, no winds (!!!!) and just freakin’ gorgeous!  I even noticed the buds on our trees making an appearance.  A sure sign of spring in our neck of the woods is they fill the lake up.  I LOVE this time of the year!

I had a mortifying moment the other day.  I heard LM playing at his workshop in the sun room.  He was entertained for a super long time.  Finally he comes over to me while I’m sitting on the couch in the adjoining room, to show me his new tool he’s been playing with.

…….and it’s a vibe.  One that I haven’t seen in years.  Apparently he had found it under the bed in the spare bedroom.  I usually am pretty witty but I flailed hard core.

Me: Oh!  That’s mine (grabbing said ‘item’ from his hot little hands and shoving it in bwtn the cushions of the couch)
LM: What is it?
Me: Well it’s mine.
LM: But what is it?!
Me: I dunno.  But it’s mine.  Okay?!
LM: So can I have it?
Me: No! It’s mine!

Nice.  Mom of the year right there.  Umm….yeah. At least I clarified that it was mine.  Right?

Anyone see the series finale for The L Word?!?!?!  OH MY FUCKING GAWD!  WTF!?!?!?  The entire episode was proving everyone had a motive for the one of the main characters turning up dead during the episode.  But we will. never. know. what really happened.

Five years ago my little boy happened.  After two devastating miscarriages, having to jump through medical hoops to sustain a pregnancy, an emergency induction at 34 weeks, several scary/close calls during delivery (when his heart rate crashed)…..this little miracle came into my life.  He’s a complete snuggle bug.  And one of the best  things that has ever happened to me.
