LM had some ‘issues’ *ahem*  this week on the bus and has been suspended from riding it for two weeks.  Which means I will be filling in as his personal taxi.  It’s not only a hassle to have to make the 40min round trip drive twice daily, as well as expensive but completely disrupts my daily routine.  And he prefers me to drive him, seems like the person being punished here is me!  *humpf*

It seems there has been some bullying going on by some older children.  You have to understand, the child is possibly 40lbs sopping wet.  He’s tall and scrawny.  Adjustable waist jeans were invented for him.  Seriously.  So that has been addressed as well.  I did have to convince PC that having a ‘talk’ with the boys fathers was possibly a bit premature.  If you’ve seen PC, he can be a bit um…intimidating.  So it hasn’t been entirely ruled out.  *wink*

He has a 14yro daughter and her BFF is bi.  And because of that he won’t let his daughter have sleepovers with her.  He says he wouldn’t let a boy sleep over, so not her either.  His daughter is calling him a ‘homophobe’. 

I think he’s being ridiculous.  I’m having a difficult time even wrapping my mind around this in order to lay out my thoughts.

First off.  Young people experiment.  When I mentioned this CQW to PC he brought to my attention that not all pre-teens were like me and my friends.  Ok. Point taken.  My friends and I from a very early age began experimenting with each other.  Not one of us thought anything of it.  *shrug*  Of all of my friends I am the only one who later realized I was a lesbian (and later on, the reality that what I really was was probably bi….unless you go back to my sexual fluidity post that I just like who I’m attracted to…. FOCUS!).  We were experimenting not sexually active, not trying to turn each other ‘gay’, we weren’t doing anything ‘wrong’ or anything out of the ordinary.  Maybe my friends and I were being more ‘curious’ than some others.  But I don’t really believe that’s true.

This fathers attitude perturbs me a bit in that his way of thinking seems to be that people who are bi/gay are out to ‘turn everyone’….to have sexual experiences with everyone they meet.  So apparently to him people who are bi or gay are more promiscuous????  Oh and untrustworthy.  Also, I hate to break it to him, but if they were to have something going on between them beyond a friendship, keeping them from having sleepovers together isn’t really preventing anything.  I mean hello….has he been fourteen before?!

The idea as a parent is to teach your children your values and expectations.  Impress upon them these things.  And then hope as they mature into young adults that you have done a good enough job that they have listened and learned.  Sure you can eliminate temptations but restricting a specific friendship because of who or what they like bothers me.  Restricting his daughter from having sleepovers with her best friend is sending a bad message, in my opinion.  And quite honestly, if I were the parents of the bi BFF I would be pissed.

*New Years Eve was cold as fuck.  Even more so than anticipated.  Not cool.  Not cool at all.  We still had a super good time and managed to bring in the New Year right (although not in the dress I had hoped to wear…)  *wink*

*One more day left of Christmas break.  It feels as if it’s flown by.  Sometimes, ok, a lot of times, the kids drive us batty over these winter breaks because they are stuck inside due to shitty weather.  Not so much this time.  The kiddos were gone the entire 6 days before Christmas and I missed them terribly.  The week after was action filled and *poof* it was New Years Eve (which they spent with their cousins) and then time to go back to school.

*While the kids were still at my sisters I took the opportunity to de-Christmasize the house.  My living room is back in order, no more Christmas ornaments to save from Emma.  She’s not a huge chewer (I mean besides the hole she put in the side of one of the couches…*grumble grumble*) but she sure did loooooooooooove the tree and it’s accessories!

*The true catching up of household chores that were thrown wayside such as the kabillion loads of laundry and de-cluttering the house from new stuff, as well as a deep thorough cleaning….will begin when they are truly back in school.

*Back in November PC surprised me with an early Christmas present- a trip to see Roxy.  So this Friday morning (all bright eyed and bushy tailed like we all know I am NOT at the butt ass crack of dawn…lol) I’ll be off to hopefully thaw out a bit from our bitter cold temps and if nothing else bask in my beloved Tequila afterglow *grins* and have a good catch up of gossip with Roxy.  Her busy season sucks for me.  I mean, right, it sucks for her too (snort) but I fucking missed her.

So yeah on with the new year!  Back with more exciting stuff come Tuesday…. Over the holiday there was an escapade or two to share.  I also have a 2010 recap in the works.  The internet decided to give me a big F-you over the weekend so I’m still working on that.

On with the randomness I  seem to be full of come Friday…..

LM stayed home sick for the two days this week with Croup.  Poor kiddo.  And come late afternoon the second day he was home….poor Mommy.  Doh.  (seriously!)  Luckily by day 3 he was ready to go back to school and has been all sorts of energy since then.

Our weather has been phenomenal.  I can’t remember the last fall we had that was this mild and amazing.  I am *LOVING* it.  When the weather finally does change it will be a huge disappointment.  You might find me huddled in a corner rocking back and forth.  I *heart* Indian Summers.

School pictures are Friday.  I helped the kiddos pick out outfits.  LP was simple….she’s as girly as I am and has a fabulous wardrobe.  LM on the other hand….I suggested what I thought he should wear.  And he announces- I’ve been waiting for this moment all year long to wear my Tux!  *sigh*  Yeah…..my son is Alex P. Keaten.  He wears vests, bowties and tuxedos…..on a regular, every day basis.

Oh.  And have I mentioned he’s going to be Freddy Kruegar for Halloween?  Oh yeah….  Haha.  Seriously, he is so freakin’ cool.

Kiddos school carnival is Friday night.  It’s always pretty….interesting at these school functions.  I get along incredibly well with the teachers and staff and about so-so with the other parents (albeit a handful).  Fun fun fun!

Adventures in dating….
I’ve decided I really should write a book on my recent dating experiences.  (Which until my mid thirties were actually fairly uneventful, haha)  The people I have encountered, the experiences….  Wow.  Just like…WOW.  Just got to shake my head a lot of the times.  *snort*

This week I was contacted by a fairly good looking guy in his early 30′s.  For whatever reason he decided what I really needed was a dominant male to tell me what to do, for me to be his ‘good slut’.  Um.  Yeah, that’s not how this Vixen plays.  Liking a male who can be a bit dominant (Ashton was dreamy in this department) is nice.  I like and am very domme with PC.  Which is exactly how I like our relationship to be *smirk*, it thrives on that dynamic.  So to be with someone else who likes to take a bit of the control…kind of fun.  To be bossed around and demanded of shit….oh hell no.  Completely wrong tactic with me, it has an adverse effect actually. I even explained this to him, trying to get him to back off a ton bit.  But it became apparent this wasn’t going to work.  See ya…

And Abercrombie completely blew it with me.  It was a tad bit weird annoying to not hear from him for 4 days, even when I tried to contact him.  Which ok, whatever.  But then when he did and I was past the point of irritated and responded a bit snarky to him.  He took this…attitude.  Turning it around on me.  Acting like I was being a clingy (which OMG I am the last thing from), head case just because I hadn’t heard from.  Then says “Oh yeah…I think I remember a text from you but forgot to respond.  My bad”.  Yes.  Yes my dear now scorned friend, YOUR BAD which equates to YOUR LOSS.  *humpf*  Needless to say he’s gotten the cold shoulder since.

Kiddos had most of the week off of school for parent/teacher conferences.  Leaving things quite busy and hectic on my end.  Luckily at least the weather has been decent so that a good amount of time could be spend outside.  Although I did find myself cursing the sun going down at 6:30 when I would have loved for the children to have spent another several hours OUT rather than cooped up IN.

I’ve become a SAHsurrogateM to five puppies who are now 5 weeks old and E.V.E.R.Y.W.H.E.R.E.  SO high maintenance.  SO much work.  Although not complaining, I adore every minute of it.  Ok…maybe less so the moments at 3am….  (yawn..lol)  But they grow up/develop so fast.  As much work as they are, I will surely miss them when they go off to their new homes.

The kiddos are spending a few days with their Grandma for some fun.  Which means an entire adult- fun filled weekend for PC and I to ourselves.   Oh the trouble me might find ourselves in….  *wicked grins*

The kiddos go back to school next week.  I had fabulous plans of spending a few more days soaking up some sun before the pool closed (sun goddess—>ME), had promised them a day at the water park in Six Flags, the splash pad at the park….  All of which were thrown out the window when LP continued to spike a fever between 100-103 (plus…), wavering between the appearance of death smeared on toast and being backed over (several times) by a Mack truck.  The poor thing had been sick since the previous week.  Just when I thought she was perking up, her fever would spike and she’d visibly go down hill again.  A trip to the Dr…..she has pneumonia.  Hell of a way to spend your last hoorah before going back to school.  The ladies in the Dr’s office were perplexed to see things like the stomach flu and pneumonia during the summer months (both of which my children have been plagued with this summer).  So while one child was incredibly sick.  The other grew incredibly bored bouncing off the walls with more and more ants in his pants (which I can’t blame him, I don’t do well day in and day out sitting at home, I am my ‘best’ on the go with little down time).

Fun times my friends…..not.

We also had a fun filled weekend with friends that we’ve had to cancel.

(Side note- I did just find out our pool is ‘extending their weekend hours through Sept 30′…that’s exciting news!  *giddy* Hey!  It’s the little things!)

Took everyone to see the remake of Karate Kid.  Very well done.  Loved it almost better than the original.

Overheard a conversation a drunk man was having on his cell phone in the lobby of Hooters, pleading with someone named “Kate”, to let him come over, assuring her that ‘she could always call 911 if she had to’.  Umm…… (IDK how reassuring that really is…”Kate” must have not thought so either because he took a place at the bar and remained there even after we left 45min later…..)

Watched it rain.

Had the entirely too large Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix desecrate my favorite 5′ tall potted plant A.G.A.I.N!!!!  ARGH!!!!!  I give up.  FINE.  Let’s throw the fucking plant away.  FINE!  My GAWD!

Dodged petty arguments/bickering/put out fires because three kiddos were stuck inside yet another day.

Because it was. still. raining…..

Unintentionally crashed a wedding reception.  Kiddos scored free wedding cake out of the deal.  (I *heart* Olive Garden)

Didn’t enjoy a Martini made with what tasted like entirely of Tequila.  I felt as if I needed to request a Chaser for it.

Watched it rain.

Read an entire book.

Enjoyed mutual-self gratifying O’s.  (A willing, skilled partners hand and a fish…a girls best friend *wink*)

Went to see A-Team (yeah….it was THAT type of a movie watching weekend).  Was surprised at how good it was considering how I had so totally not wanted to see it.

Was slightly encouraged when the rain stopped for 5.5seconds.

Drowned my rainy weekend sorrows in a perfectly strong Margarita.

Lusted over watched the season premiere to True Blood.  *happy sigh*

Kiddos and I have been Rock Band playing fools in the last week.  LM insists that I’m ‘awesome’.  To which my sister first about choked on her beer probably and then vehemently disagreed saying she was kind of surprised ‘even LM thought I was good’. *snort* Hey! I’ll take what I can get, and if that’s flattery from a 7yro little boy \- then so be it! Ha!  I mean, don’t we ALL sing awesome (in our heads at least)?!

PC’s son is staying with us for the next month.  It’s fun to have the three kids back together again.  They really get along famously the first week.  *LOL* Actually I think we’re all happy to have a good drum player (Rock Band people…keep up with me). He rocks it on the drums.  *beaming* The weather has been awesome.  So I’ve been entertaining them with pool days and the awesome splash pad park we have.

I’m otherwise boring bc any spare time I have is being spent as the kids cruise director.  I did have plans to go to an outdoor concert of some kind with a super fun friend this weekend, but it seems the beautiful weather I just gushed about is about to ditch us, turning super crappy.  Totally annoying.  *SIGH*
(actually I think Sage willed it on us…he’s been giving me crap lately for ‘stealing’ all his girls.  *humpf* I was only going to BORROW, I mean seriously, we came to an agreement I thought, give the weather back already.  Sheesh! *LOL*)

This little gem came from PC over the weekend.  *smirk*

The before conversation came up after we had just seen Killers and Katherine Heigl couldn’t pee on a stick (pregnancy test) in front of her husband, Ashton Kutcher.  Somehow I got to teasing him about how I wouldn’t have been able to do that even though I’m a pro at it (POAS- peeing on a stick). And I mentioned he’s glad he didn’t know me when I was trying to get pregnant with LM.  Someone as obsessive as me trying to concieve (…for over a year…with two miscarriages…HOOPS people, medical hoops is what it finally took).  Can you IMAGINE the insane level of obsessing going on?!?!  No wonder my exH and mine marriage fell apart!  I’m surprised I didn’t make him take off into the hills running like a lunatic.  I tease…..  ~wink~ (obviously there was A LOT more to my doomed previous marriage  *ahem*).

Speaking of Killers.  GREAT movie. I guess the general plot, if you disect the movie, it’s a bit stupid.  BUT why ruin a great movie that way…. over all it’s funny, cute and I loved it.  Super cute.  Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher had fabulous chemistry.  He’s a surprisingly good actor and I’ve always been a fan of Katherine’s….  I admit to having a massive crush on Ashton Kutcher.  So if you all would like to pitch in to get him for my birthday, that would be like awesome.  ~hinthintgrins~

Oh.  But one more thing.  So the mom of Katherine Heigls character…she’s a neurotic lush!  Making comments through out the entire movie like ‘It’s never too early for a cocktail’ and ‘Let’s celebrate!’ (as she goes to pour herself a drink) and making inappropriate comments through out.  Um….I think I’m that mom!  Even funnier/worse.  PC thinks I’m the combo of the neurotic mom onTransformers (anyone seen Part 2?  The scene where she accidentally eats the ‘special’ brownies…..bwahaha) and this mom on Killers.  *shaking head* Nice…..lolol.

Friday I finally did it.  Went through with the tattoo I’ve been obsessing over since March.  I was amazed at how NOT painful it was.  I joked that from now on ALL the rest of my ink will go on my arms/wrists.  *LOL* When you’ve gotten 8, in various places of your body, you gain an idea on where it’s painful to get them and where it is not.  The one on my hip and upper back still hold as being *the. most. painful*.  While the ones on my bikini line, ankle and wrist were the least. Maybe not the most impressive tattoo I’ve gotten, but quite possibly one of the more meaningful…

Discovered my new favorite twist on beer!  Specialty brewed Stout with a shot of Stoleys Vanilla Vodka.  Anyone who knows me, is aware of my love for tastes-like-rocky-mountain-spring-water beer (AKA- Coors Light). And strong DISLIKE for dark beer *barf*.  BUT this combo is very awesome.

LP and I ran the 5k we do every year that benefits our local Habitat for Humanity.  She totally kicked ass.  Coming in 1st place in her division (course this was after she puked 500ft from the finish line from over-exherting herself…..she’s hard core that kid).  VERY proud of her.  *beaming*

Kiddos spent the rest of the wkend with their grandmother.  Which was a nice opportunity to spend time with friends, kick back, relax, do our own thing.  My head’s been a bit discombobulated lately so it was nice to just…not have to think.  Ya know?  That’s what I spent the weekend trying to do at least.
