Finally, FINALLY made it to see New Moon. *swoon* It’s perfectly acceptable, btw, for me to swoon over Edward, in movie land he’s something like 107years old and IRL 23. Hey! That makes me more Cougar-like than lecherous! ~wink~ Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson both get A+++ for having teenage angst mastered. I have been seriously dying to see this movie. I devoured the books (totally going to re-read the book after Christmas, lol), have seen Twilight more than any non-adolescent woman should, and anxiously awaited the new one. And then….we’ve been sick, LP and I. Week after week after weekend after yet another weekend. Sick. Sick. SICK. Ugh. This has been a shitty winter for us health wise, especially considering as a family we are usually quite the opposite. Boo!
That said, just as I crawl out of the fetal position, regain a bit of color, pull my head out of, well you get the idea, LM is now very sick. He’s had a lovely on again/off again cold/cough that became increasingly worse Sunday. Looks like a Dr visit is going to be on my schedule Monday. *sigh*
Hey the good news is maybe by Christmas the entire family will be healthy!

Wow. We went from insanely MILD temps (it was in the 70′s over Thanksgiving wkend) to incredible lows. We’re talking HIGHS of 16 degrees during the day and dipping down to 5 over night. All the outside animals water has been frozen solid in the mornings AND at night, the house is cold, our cars are cold, the kids aren’t able to play outside during the day… IT’S FUCKING COLD. And to make it all the more pleasant, LM and I have developed colds. Granted him and I escaped the icky stomach bug, which I’m SUPER grateful for. But gah…. Stupid cold (both temps and sickness).
I meant to post pictures on Monday but didn’t get them up in time. So as promised….
The little muffin girl that has captured everyone in our household’s heart: Phoebe

She seriously looks like Gizmo from The Gremlins. *LOL* She BTW, has not appreciated the insanely cold temps either. I’ve done this before- attempted to housebreak a tiny dog in extremely cold winter temps. It sucked. Gah, oh well.

I’ve seriously had *one of THOSE* kind of weeks…. I wonder how PC puts up with me sometimes. But he does, and I love him for it.
Have a FABULOUS Friday. I think I might be able to see New Moon this weekend (finally!). I’ve been chomping at the bit and kept missing opportunities, damnit. Sweet!
I hope this is me this weekend…..

- Saw a very funny and cute movie (Old Dogs).
- Ate dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory (YUM!)
- Wearing my new favorite dress, knee high socks and awesome boots. (grins)
- Daughter come down with the stomach flu middle of the night.
- Child puking all night= mom up with child puking all night (sigh).
- Oh. so. tired.
- Husband is sick too.
- Bought my first Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal from McD’s.
- Ha! SO TOTALLY not for myself. What sick husband wants, sick husband gets. (Hey! I don’t completely suck)
- Was worried what the lady in the drive thru would think of me. That’s pathetic, isn’t it? Do meat eaters judge people like that. (do they????)
- Sick child’s cat (that she love, love, loves) has been missing for several days.
- Child is heartbroken.
- Parents are heartbroken for her.
- Parents do the most sensible thing….
- Buy child a puppy.
- (shut up)
- Vixen breaks down and asks husband to buy her a …*choke*… artificial tree. (I will miss a freshly cut tree, but not the hassles associated with it… OCD people want to do things when they want to do them. Damnit.)
- Tree is beautiful. Decorated. And oh-so-pretty.
- Male child is grumpy. disruptive. loud. grumpy. pouty. grumpy….
- The. entire. weekend. (groan)
- Daughters cat shows up. Fine.
- New puppy is teeny, tiny. So, um. It doesn’t count. Right?
- (shut up)
- Yay….it’s Monday.

Thanks everyone for what you said regarding my post yesterday. It meant a ton. I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt so nonfunctionally *tired*. I do have some ideas of what might be causing it. Good news, I guess???
******
In other news. We went to see The Blind Side. First off…HOLY CROWDS. And I’m not even talking about the New Moon crowds! (those are an experience of itself!) Excellent movie. It did NOT dissappoint. Such a touching, feel good movie. And after that shit movie I took the kids to last week, I deserved a good one! (lol)

Per my Saturday post, professing my intense new love for Mimi Holliday lingerie …:::sigh:::…. I’ve decided to take donations and/or presents for Christmas, consider it a Secret Santa sort of thing. Send all pretty lingerie with bows in size XS and 32C to…. *ahem* KIDDING. But um, thanks for encouraging my obsession (lol).

Warning, rant ahead-
So I took the kiddos to see Where the Wild Things Are this weekend. It is an *adored* book in our family, one of our most favorites. I grew up loving this book. When we saw it was coming out as a movie they made me promise that I would take them. SURE THING! I finally had the opportunity this weekend. And…. *GROAN* Wow do I wished we had missed it. We so completely did NOT love that movie. Like, at. all. 5min into it I knew I was going to hate it and wanted to leave. The little BRAT of a child was horrible to his mom, who was a really good single mom, doing her best for her kids. The Wild Things were shitty to each other and totally dysfunctional. You kind of thought as the movie progressed they would work it out, things would become better. (Isn’t that how it happens in movies???) But no. That is not what happened. The boy returns home (from his ridiculous adventure, after running away from home bc he was HORRIBLE to his mother and BIT her) and she greets him lovingly with a huge piece of Chocolate Cake. Awww….. That’s totally the message I want to send my children! …..act like a total out of control, awful brat and you will be rewarded with chocolate cake. YUM!!! Yay!!! [insert sarcasm]
*shaking head*
God it was awful and depressing! I had to have a a talk with the kids afterward about the message it sent and what I didn’t like about it. THEY couldn’t believe how horrid he was to his mom. And how scary and not nice to each other the Wild Things were. I mean.
At one point when one of the Wild Things realizes Max isn’t a king, he asks him- “Well if you aren’t king what are you then?”
Max- “I’m just Max”
The Wild Thing- “Well that isn’t much, is it?”
Scene over.
Um, WTF!?!?
Boo. Six thumbs down from us.

Besides the shitty movie, we had a quiet (and snowy) but good weekend.

This whole being laid up thing is really starting to get to me. I don’t do well when I can’t run. Much less when I can barely walk or go anywhere or do anything. This reminds me of when I broke my ankle freshman year of HS by stepping off a flight of stairs two steps short of the landing (#345 on Vixen’s ever growing and *long* list of ‘stupid/klutziest moments’). THAT was fun. NOT. I’m finding it incredibly hard to not fall face first into a funk bc I have nothing that I can do to clear my head but sit. Oh but wait. And sex! Ok, that actually does help. [grins]
Watched a most disturbing and fucked up movie, Surveillance. Seriously it was. But in a sick, twisted, can’t stop watching it, gotta know how it ends sort of a way. I’d recommend it if you like thriller/drama/murder/mystery’s. It’s good, just really fucked up.
The highlight of the weekend was totally yummy sushi at my favorite sushi restaurant Saturday night. Mmmm…… Veggie Tempura Rolls. *drool*
So. New week. I had to cancel on a commitment I made to LM’s teacher to help out last Friday bc of my stupid injury. I was *hoping* to be up to it by Monday and I guess I’m just being completely moronic and/or unrealistic….. *frustrated SIGH*

You all are going to be sooooo jealous when I tell you who I spent my Saturday with. ~wink~
Barefoot Dreamer! Anyone who follows her blog knows her and her family have been on a vacation/road trip. When I found out she was going to be near my neck of the woods I stalked her down wooed her into hooking up. So Saturday her family and mine met in Estes Park to spend the day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). It’s one of my favorite places to go. Six kiddos and four adults….we were most definitely out numbered, lol. We hiked around the lake and then most of the way up to some falls. The kids (all of them under 10yrs) were complete troopers! Hell, even BD and her hubby’s (who is hubba hubba hot btw, they make a gorgeous couple!) stamina was impressive in our exceptionally high altitude. We had a most excellent time!
Unfortunately no real pictures. Anonymity is a bitch sometimes, sorry.

Hey but I’ll throw in one of PC and I. Not the same…I know.

LP and I went to see The Proposal on Sunday. I’d been dying to see it and am SO glad we made the effort to go. SUPER cute and funny. Absolutely *loved* it. Before the movie we ran into an old acquintance, pre-divorce. Which always makes for some super fun and uncomfortable moments… (gah) The last time I ran into her was equally uncomfortable, she is one of those people that if I were describe what she does, I would say that she has babies. She’s since had one more, bringing the total to 6 kiddos. Interesting family, she’s an amazing mother. Too bad friendships fail with marriages. *sigh* Oh well.

In the meantime, Halloween is a BIG thing for us in our household. LM has been searching for/thinking/talking about his upcoming costume, searching through magazines, both new and old that we either had or have arrived in the mail for the possible ‘PERFECT’ costume for months. He is Halloween *obsessed*…. I admit though, he comes by it honestly. I have literally been obsessing thinking about this upcoming Halloween since last Halloween. I have it narrowed down to two costumes. I actually HAD the perfect costume plan all year until I stumbled upon THE. MOST. FABULOUS. SHOES. EVER. Sunday. It has opened up the possibility for so much more!!! *biting lip* How to choose?! BTW, the choices are bwtn a Burlesque Dancer and a Pin-Up Swim suit model…. (I’m not including links bc like I want to give anyone ELSE ideas!!! I pride myself in having unique, awesome costumes and I don’t want to relive LAST YEARS issue. DOH!)

We had THE MOST awesome weather this weekend. Spent a good part of Saturday on the lake then at a neighbors BBQ.
Friday night we went to my favorite Sushi restaurant. *YUM-MY* Then took the kiddos to see Transformers 2.
We had hoped/planned to see it on the IMAX screen but it was way sold out before we made it there. We opted to wait in an hour and half line for the regular screen showing (at least this wasn’t the budget theater near our house, but a newer, super nice one further away). It was freaking *AWESOME*. All those uptight parents who gave it sucky reviews for ‘unnecessary adult language and sexual content’ can suck it and should stick with movies like Wall-E bc it fucking kicked ass. We are even contemplating going again but to the IMAX version (poor LM fell asleep 3/4 way through it and was sooooooo disappointed- he *LOVES* the Transformers). Anyway. If you liked the first one, you will love the 2nd. And yes. Megan Fox is still SMOKIN’ HOT! *swoon*

Spending Monday at Six Flags with my sister and all the kiddos. Hoping the weather holds out as well as it has. Should be a blast! :)

Did everyone spoil their men yesterday? I certainly hope so! I felt as if I were the one who was actually spoiled (doh!) but I think PC managed to enjoy himself too. We ate at Famous Dave’s for the first time (mine and two of the kiddos, not PC’s and LB-his son). Let me say, I was in sauce HEAVEN. For anyone who is new here or doesn’t read me frequently enough- I am *ALL* about the sauce. Food is merely a vehicle for sauce. I looooooooooooove sauce. Case in point- I eat french fries FOR the ketchup. My favorite restaurant is The Melting Pot bc you get like *SIX* different dipping sauces. See?! Well, Famous Dave’s has *FIVE* different types of BBQ sauces you can mix and match. And while most BBQ places refuse to have anything on their menu except meat (barf), these guys are actually smart and have choices for a vegetarian like me. ~GRINS~
I managed to coerce (not really!) PC into providing me a much needed/wanted/craved O. The really big, leave you shaking in the knees, breathing heavily kind…. I LOVED this Father’s Day! *snort* What?! ….he loves to pleasure me! ;)
Oh. And for anyone interested. I highly *DON’T* recommend Year One. Of course you expect it to be stupid, but it was REALLY stupid and in a less than funny sort of a way. The crude ‘humor’ (I put that lightly) was over the top. And every funny scene in the movie is in the previews. Blech. You should actually just watch the preview, it’s really funny, and then call yourself good. It’ll save you the admission and time. Ha!
Happy Monday loverlies!
