So. Remember when I used to play Mute Monday (before I got too busy to play and then Troll discontinued it)? That cool photo meme on Mondays, where you had to come up with pictures to match the assigned theme for that week? Well. Pretend we are doing that. Bc it’s late, been a long day, my thoughts are discombobulated and this is the best way I can think of to give you any sort of post/recap of my weekend. So let’s pretend and play along. Ok? Ok…..

Headed downtown Friday afternoon to meet up with Yummy.  Traffic suuuuuuuuuuuuuucked ass.  Huge reason why I love living in the country, city life is fun to visit but definitely not for me full time.  But honestly, once you get past the traffic and to your destination- fun is always found.

Parted ways mid/late afternoon.  Poor guy was in rough shape.  ((((Yummy))))

*THANKFULLY* the 7 dogs left alone at home were complete angels.  Well. Ok except for Phoebe (who is never, ever, EVER left alone…and ate a power cord.  Fuck…..)

PC and LM got home from his Jitz tournament. (he rocked it….go him! *grins proudly*) (LM was freakin *AWESOME*….go him! *grins proudly*)

Hmm…what sounds good for dinner.  Oh!  Mexican food!  What’s close?  On The Border!!!  But the very bestest part about the meal (I mean, besides our super hot, flirty waitress) were the Watermelon Margaritas.  I didn’t even have intentions of having anything…but hell, how can you pass up WATERMELON MARGARITAS?!?!  Uh, apparently not me. I had two.  *ahem*

Got home.  Put kiddo to bed (LP was still with her Nana Nan). Remembered Ginny, the Guinea, was hunkering outside the chicken coop.  She’d flown out the night before when she was spooked.  This is the ugliest bird you have ever seen.  These birds have been a thorn in my side since day one.  I have NO idea who’s brilliant idea it was to get them (uh…mine, shut up!) but my guilt got the best of me and I couldn’t leave her out of the coop another night.  So at 11:00 at night I’m out trying to wrangle her around the fence back into the coop.  Half an hour later- mission accomplished.  Stupid bird.

Sunday we attended my middle sisters graduation party.  She recently graduated from college with her teaching degree and is now off to spend 27 months in Honduras with the Peace Corps.  Impressive dedication.  Interesting having my entire family together.  Especially considering current dynamics.  Doesn’t happen very often. As in…hadn’t seen my one aunt and grandmother in over 10 years.  Uh, yeah……  Everyone was cordial.  Awesome weather.  Cousins entertained each other and we all made fakey fakey nice.  *shrug*

As I just mentioned- the weather the last few days has been awwwwwweeeeeesssssssooooooommmeee.  FINALLY!!!!  Very enjoyable.

Afterwards it was decided B & B would be perfect for dinner.  You know….Beer and Boobs…  AKA: Hooters.  ~wink~

I know you all are sitting on the edge of your seats, anxiously waiting to hear what we came home from the Stockshow with.  (shut up, lol)  And the answer is- nothing.  Here’s the thing.  We have five cats and seven dogs.  Bringing home a rabbit or guinea pig would be like hanging a sign on the poor things cage that says  “BAIT: DO NOT EAT”.  Seriously.  It just seems rather cruel to me.  To all animals involved.  And honestly, while Phoebe (or as PC has nicknamed her- Peebe *snort*) is the cutest thing EVER, she has been awful to housebreak.  The girl has no shame, running to squat in front of you after you’ve just spent 10min outside with her coercing her to potty.  *SIGH*  I have housebroken many (many) puppies and she is by far the most difficult.  So to even consider adding more to my plate….uh yeah.  No thanks.

You have to understand why I love this pic of the kitties.  The kitty on the right is LP’s.  Her name is Alley.  She *adores* LP.  If you want to find Alley, you look for LP.  The gray cat on the left is Riley, the laundry basket is his all time favorite place ever.  Both kiddos spent the night with their cousins Sunday night and I’m guessing Alley was lonely bc she decided to join Riley.  If you note, the other funny thing about this pic is that Riley is seriously the BIGGEST cat I have ever met.  He’s HUGE.  While Alley is teeny tiny.  But the two are the bestest of friends.

I’m sick again.  Since I guess Thursday.  Which is seriously fucked up when you consider how I’m *NEVER* sick but how *often* I have been sick this winter.  UGH.  I’m healthy, active, outdoors-y….what causes someone to be FINE for so long and then *WHAM* get sick every 5min?!  Seriously!

In other news… 

Victoria’s Secrets semi annual sale is in effect.  Don’t miss it!  Honestly people (GIRLS!) we are talking BINS of bras and panties (their GOOD ones no less!) for $15!  Be quick though, it might already be too late, women across the universe have already been rummaging through those bins making it so you can never find the right size again (lol).  Online is okay too, but in store sales are always the very best.  Take it from an expert like me  ~wink~

We had a totally fabulous New Years Eve.  PC and I went downtown with some friends.  We began the night with dinner at Bubba Gumps (the only place that didn’t require reservations two months earlier, lol).

Funny story.  PC and his friend decide to check their jackets half way through the night (us girls had checked our coats when we first got to the club).  The coat check girl *totally* thought they were a couple, when they got back they looked at their claim ticket and……  *giggle*

Midnight.  Happy New Years!!!

There was a couple near us COMPLETELY going at it, as in any minute we figured they’d be fucking next to us.  I know I’ve gotten hot and heavy in a club before, but I’m pretty sure I’ve never been quite as oblivious as this couple.  But you know, what the hell ever, good for them.

Ack.  So in other news.  I de-Christmasted our house this wkend.  While carrying Christmas boxes into the basement I somehow managed to get my navel ring jammed into the hinge of a plastic box I was carrying and almost completely ripped my piercing out.

Um.  It hurt.  A whole fucking lot.  It’s too early to assess the damage but I do know this-

1. It hurts like hell.
2. Besides the two times I’ve taken it out when I was super duper pregnant, I haven’t seen my ‘normal’ belly w/o jewlery in over 15 years.
3. I HATE the way my stomach/belly button looks w/o the pretty peircing/jewelry.

Stupid shit like this only happens to me.  I swear.

I know everyone else with kids is sending them back to school today.  We have almost two more weeks with our kids off.  Oh yea…. Fun times here. Doh.

So….  The kids and I managed to finish all our baking AND frosted all the cookies AND got them divied up into appropriate containers to go to the right people.  Huge relief off my shoulders.  And it was all done with minimal fighting/kiddo issues.  Mission completed with patience in tact.  Awesome.

We did our time standing in line to see Avatar in IMAX 3D and was totally not disappointed.  Incredible movie!  Unfortunately we had to see a late showing and LM fell asleep near the end.  Which sucked bc he really was enjoying it.  Poor kiddo.

NOW the real craziness begins.  The big count down to Christmas.  Kiddos have two more days of school.  Shopping and wrapping is finished. 

Have I mentioned before how much I *LOVE LOVE LOVE* Christmas time!!??!

Finally, FINALLY made it to see New Moon.  *swoon*   It’s perfectly acceptable, btw, for me to swoon over Edward, in movie land he’s something like 107years old and IRL 23.  Hey!  That makes me more Cougar-like than lecherous! ~wink~  Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson both get A+++ for having teenage angst mastered.  I have been seriously dying to see this movie.  I devoured the books (totally going to re-read the book after Christmas, lol), have seen Twilight more than any non-adolescent woman should, and anxiously awaited the new one.  And then….we’ve been sick, LP and I.  Week after week after weekend after yet another weekend.  Sick. Sick. SICK.  Ugh.  This has been a shitty winter for us health wise, especially considering as a family we are usually quite the opposite.  Boo!

That said, just as I crawl out of the fetal position, regain a bit of color, pull my head out of, well you get the idea, LM is now very sick.  He’s had a lovely on again/off again cold/cough that became increasingly worse Sunday.  Looks like a Dr visit is going to be on my schedule Monday.  *sigh*

Hey the good news is maybe by Christmas the entire family will be healthy!

• Yes!  Turns out vegetarians can eat there too.

• It was….numbing.  But good.  Well done.
• Who am I kidding.  I could watch Natalie Portman read the phone book.  She’s hotter than hell!

• Was worried what the lady in the drive thru would think of me.  That’s pathetic, isn’t it? Do meat eaters judge people like that.  (do they????)
• Sick child’s cat (that she love, love, loves) has been missing for several days. 
• Child is heartbroken. 
• Parents are heartbroken for her.
• Parents do the most sensible thing….
• Buy child a puppy.

• Vixen breaks down and asks husband to buy her a …*choke*…  artificial tree. (I will miss a freshly cut tree, but not the hassles associated with it… OCD people want to do things when they want to do them.  Damnit.)
• Tree is beautiful.  Decorated.  And oh-so-pretty.

(those are an experience of itself!)  Excellent movie.  It did NOT dissappoint.  Such a touching, feel good movie.  And after that shit movie I took the kids to last week, I deserved a good one! (lol)

Warning, rant ahead-

So I took the kiddos to see Where the Wild Things Are this weekend.  It is an *adored* book in our family, one of our most favorites.  I grew up loving this book.  When we saw it was coming out as a movie they made me promise that I would take them.  SURE THING!  I finally had the opportunity this weekend.  And….  *GROAN*  Wow do I wished we had missed it.  We so completely did NOT love that movie.  Like, at. all.  5min into it I knew I was going to hate it and wanted to leave.  The little BRAT of a child was horrible to his mom, who was a really good single mom, doing her best for her kids.  The Wild Things were shitty to each other and totally dysfunctional.  You kind of thought as the movie progressed they would work it out, things would become better.  (Isn’t that how it happens in movies???)  But no.  That is not what happened.  The boy returns home (from his ridiculous adventure, after running away from home bc he was HORRIBLE to his mother and BIT her) and she greets him lovingly with a huge piece of Chocolate Cake.  Awww…..  That’s totally the message I want to send my children!  …..act like a total out of control, awful brat and you will be rewarded with chocolate cake.  YUM!!! Yay!!!  [insert sarcasm] 

*shaking head* 
God it was awful and depressing!  I had to have a a talk with the kids afterward about the message it sent and what I didn’t like about it.  THEY couldn’t believe how horrid he was to his mom.  And how scary and not nice to each other the Wild Things were. I mean. 
At one point when one of the Wild Things realizes Max isn’t a king, he asks him- “Well if you aren’t king what are you then?” 
Max- “I’m just Max” 
The Wild Thing- “Well that isn’t much, is it?”  

Scene over. 
Um, WTF!?!?
