The stars have all aligned for me recently.  Things are so perfectly perfect feeling. 

Friday morning I am leaving for a short weekend to Roxy-ville.  It will most likely be my last visit out there for awhile.  This is the time of year she becomes a slave to her job and will be busy, busy, busy.  As if it won’t be bad enough I can’t see her, she’ll be so busy days will go by that I probably won’t even be able to talk to her.  *humpf*  But wait, back to the happy part *giggle*.  And hey, her and Quicksilver are, after all, coming out for my birthday next month to see if we can top last years crazy fun.  Coyote Ugly has possibly recovered from the five us by now.  *wink*

All the necessary arrangements have been finalized for my girls trip this fall to the city that never sleeps (hint, hint).  I’m completely GIDDY with excitement.  And having everything set in stone makes it feel….real!

And.  AND…  I had a sleep over date with Ashton (aka Tall Glass of Yummy).  We haven’t seen each other since the middle of June.  Life gets in the way of fun sometimes (pout).  What can you do, ya know?  It was um, nice (*huge grins*) to spend some time together again. (and don’t think that PC didn’t reap some benefits from it either….*wink*)

Speaking of…  PC and I are doing amazing.  We hit a bit of a rough patch of sorts a bit ago, did some stumbling but are back on track.  Actually better than back on track, we might be doing the best we have been.  We’ve discovered our nitch- which makes us both super happy and we’re having some fabulous fun.

I’m just in a very good place and it all makes me sigh happily.  Love. that!

In hindsight. I think I could have named my HNT on Thursday- three tattoos, a bruise and a birth mark.  Don’t ask me why those things stuck out at me so much when I looked at the pic later.  Doh.

Last week after my mini melt down I began taking a low dosage of Progesterone.  What a difference some hormones make!  I definitely was experiencing a deficiency since my surgery.  I’m back on the road to ME ME ME!!!!  *huge sigh of relief* I haven’t had a melt down in almost a week.  That right there makes it worth it, besides the fact it seems to be taking care of all my ‘other’ symptoms as well.

That said though….

I seem to have lost my pep.  I’m not entirely sure what is going on.  I’m not in a funk, definitely not depressed.  Just…lost in thought.  In a weird head space.  I’ve taken some steps back, looked eternally.  Trying to figure out what is going on.  Causing this. 
My best friend notices and asked if I was ok (several times…have I mentioned lately how much I *heart* her?!).  Oh.  Why?  Do I not seem ok?  No- she says.  Hmm…
My husband notices.  Asks if I’m ok.  Asks if it’s something he has done.  Because he wants us to be ok, me to be ok with him.  I am.

I’m fine. (more so emotional and neurotic than anything else) 

No really. I am though.  Sure I’m emotional.  And quiet.  Subdued.  Deep in thought.

I wonder….
The surgery I had 3 months ago was something I put a huge amount of thought into.  It was debated and considered.  I had battled PMDD symptoms combined with ‘other stuff’ for 7 years.  The procedure seemed so perfectly perfect.  And it was (ok, once I was finally back on my feet…the recovery sucked ass).  Until recently.  My concern is…the surgery I had was meant to put these symptoms at bay.  And imagine my glee that is HAS for the last few months.  But now things have sort of come to…where ever it is now.  And I’m not really sure what is going on with me.  Or how to fix it.  *sigh*

Anyways.  It’s the weekend.  I’ve gotten very little sleep this past week.  I’ve kept PC from getting very little sleep this past week.  We’re still working out the kinks of his new work schedule, juggling the stuff he likes to do, the stuff I like to do- things like the gym, Jiu Jitsu, running, friends, sleeping… trying to spend time together with out me keeping him up until 3 am.  Um…yeah…still working on that part, as I said.

It’s no news (or at least it shouldn’t be, ha!) that I spend a good portion of my summer at the pool with the kiddos.  We have a fabulous pool we go to, as well as the equally fabulous (yet different) one we meet my sister at usually once a week with her kiddos.  My children are fish/dare devils (seriously you should see the thing they can pull off on the diving board, it amazes even me, and I’m their mother!). It’s easy, fun, inexpensive entertainment.

I do a lot of people watching.  Over the last month or so I’ve made some mental notes.

Notes from the pool-

There is a difference between ‘having tattoos’ and turning your body into a walking billboard (and you know I am a HUGE fan of ink).  It seems to be the new trend for the 18-20something crowd to do this to themselves.  Sayings, names, words all in large fancy writing covering their entire chests, legs, backs, across one shoulder to another.  I wonder how much thought was put into their ink and how they will feel about these random slogans later on in life.  Yes there is laser removal….but from what I hear it’s way more painful than any and all tattoos.  Things that make you go, hmm…..

To the rather good looking, very buff man who comes to the pool daily with his toddler daughter…your board shorts should be longer than my 7yro son’s.  Just sayin….  Not that you don’t have nice legs and all but it’s not a good look for you.  Or men in general. 

Bikini bottoms that go up past your navel are out.  No matter how cute your figure….when you pull your bottoms up past your navel, so that your butt cheeks then hang out.  No.  Not ok.

Just graduated high school boys who seem nice enough….until they open their mouths.  And talk smack- loudly- about some chick and one of them being her baby daddy.  The ick spewing from their mouths was crude, rude, and offensive.  Please refrain from opening your mouths.  Excuse me while I find somewhere else to sit in disgust.

Men.  If you have to dig your shorts out out of your ass after getting out of the pool- YOUR SHORTS ARE TOO SMALL.  They should *not* fit like that.  Wrong, wrong, wrong….  *still trying to remove that image from my brain*

To the parents of the seven (-ish) year old wearing water wings… Your child needs swimming lessons.  Not inflatable armwear that make your child look like a dork.  And I’m pretty sure if you look at the specifications of those water wings- they are for toddlers, possibly small preschoolers.  But most definitely not a school aged child weighing 40 plus pounds.  At the very least, buy them a life vest.  That at least might do some good for your child if it’s neccessary.

It’s been sunshiney fabulous all week (finally!) and my happy meter has been recharged.  Finally was even able to take the top off the Jeep.  LP and I have been be-boppin around listening to Kesha blaring.

Kiddo stuff….
Kiddos and I have been Rock Band playing fools in the last week.  LM insists that I’m ‘awesome’.  To which my sister first about choked on her beer probably and then vehemently disagreed saying she was kind of surprised ‘even LM thought I was good’. *snort* Hey! I’ll take what I can get, and if that’s flattery from a 7yro little boy \- then so be it! Ha!  I mean, don’t we ALL sing awesome (in our heads at least)?!

PC’s son is staying with us for the next month.  It’s fun to have the three kids back together again.  They really get along famously the first week.  *LOL* Actually I think we’re all happy to have a good drum player (Rock Band people…keep up with me). He rocks it on the drums.  *beaming* The weather has been awesome.  So I’ve been entertaining them with pool days and the awesome splash pad park we have.

I’m otherwise boring bc any spare time I have is being spent as the kids cruise director.  I did have plans to go to an outdoor concert of some kind with a super fun friend this weekend, but it seems the beautiful weather I just gushed about is about to ditch us, turning super crappy.  Totally annoying.  *SIGH*
(actually I think Sage willed it on us…he’s been giving me crap lately for ‘stealing’ all his girls.  *humpf* I was only going to BORROW, I mean seriously, we came to an agreement I thought, give the weather back already.  Sheesh! *LOL*)

Things change.

I’ve been mulling over a bunch of things. It’s funny that this time last week I was an anxious mess.  So many…‘issues’ were laying heavily on me.  Finally things became too much, PC and I talked them out, made some changes and I think we both walked away feeling much better about the new ‘game plan’ (mainly concerning summer plans that were beginning to overwhelm us both).  So come Monday night…I was sighing heavily with relief (while drinking several margaritas at my favorite place) because so many things had been lifted off my mind, making it possible to breathe again.  Finally able to rid myself of that tightness in my chest that was making it impossible to breathe.

And then *just. like. that*….a variable changed.  As things became simpler for me, they became overwhelmingly more complicated for this other person.  One having nothing to do with the other.  Just timing.

I’m a bit melancholy over these changes.  I have had moments where I was utterly obsessed with the how, the why and whether things could have been done differently.  But I understand.  And such is life. It changes.

On the Banana Rum.  Amazed at how many people either hadn’t heard of it or flat out despised it. Really?!  I’m a HUGE fan of the stuff.  Rum in general, not so much. I’m that lush person that has over-indulged in quite a few liquors over the years to the point that the thought of most of them make me want to puke.  Rum is one of them.  Used to live on the stuff.  Do you have any idea how many different flavors of rum there are?!  Malibu, Vanilla, Spiced, Coconut, Banana….  My favorite of them all that I can still occasionally enjoy- Banana.  If I were to choose a simple pool side drink to be brought by a hot waitress, it would be Banana Rum with Diet Coke.  Mmmm….  It’s pretty much what I lived off of while in Jamaica (bc their already warm-ish beer, drank while sitting in the heat is *pukey*, take my word for it), both times.  YUM.

Thursday was LM’s birthday.  He turned seven.  SEVEN.  Which is like….crazy to me that my youngest is now seven years old….  I jumped through hoops for this kid… medical, life changing ones.  Two devastating miscarriages, three plus months of bedrest, emergency induction at 34weeks, beyond high maintenance- cried unless he was held all. the.time, ruined marriage….  Funny (not in a haha way, but in an ironic one) that the one thing that made my life complete and finally drew me out of the deep depression I had fallen in for over a year… that ultimately ruined my marriage was this child.  BUT I wouldn’t change a moment or choice I made.  It all happened for a reason.  And this reason is him.

Crickets chirping.  Lilacs blooming.  Warm summer nights.  I’m in heaven.  I live for this time of year.  And summer is officially here, I say, despite the crazy ass weather.  Pool is open, Elitches as well, passes to both bought….road trip in just over a week.  Another less than two weeks later.  Summer break has only just began and I feel as if we’ve planned it away.  But with the way the kiddos have been at each others throats this last week, that may not be a bad thing.  A busy, entertained child is one less likely to be driving me to drink.  Oh, shut up, like I need an excuse to drink.  ~wink~

It’s Friday people.  Party like rockstars!

So.  Fuck this week.  Seriously.  Drama (hate it!!!). Beating my body to hell.  An entire bottle of my most favoritest, imported tequila shattered everyfuckingwhere (((Donnie))).  LM waking me up in the middle of the night puking everywhere and….later puking at the dinner table.  During dinner.  In the same night he barely escapes a concussion (I’m not even going to *tell* you how…).  Misunderstanding between bestest friends.  All is cool, everything is fine. Thank god for unconventional  (*LOL*) But still.  (I *heart* them *sigh*)

And.
In a matter of a weeks time I have scraped up my knees, back and shoulder (Roxy’s Spa- Friday night), cut the bottom of my left foot on a piece of random glass (Roxy’s house- Saturday night), skin/bruise the fuck out of the entire length of my left shin (click to see- warning: nasty looking) and twist my right ankle (while fending off dogs running- Monday night).  As Lolita and Roxy have pointed out- only this shit happens to me and what IS it with me and my legs/feet!??!?!  *sigh* (ouch)

Going downtown Friday night (with Yummy….~wicked grin~).  Haven’t been down there in a bit, should be a super fun time.  Debated hard whether I could pull off a sexy slip dress and heels with my legs looking as fucked up as they do.  In the end I decided I looked too much like a beaten up crack whore (gah!).  I’m not sure any amount of self confidence could pull off legs that look as awful as mine do right now.  Maybe enough alcohol…..lol.  Still.  No dress (damn).

As of noon Friday the kiddos are on summer break.  WOO HOO!!!!  No more having to get up at 6am.  No more lunches to be made in a half-dazed caffeine jonsing state.  No more trying to get kiddos in bed at 8pm while it’s still light out (doh!).  And from what I can tell *crossing fingers not wanting to jinx it* we might actually be having some summer weather finally.  Fun concept you know…..HEAT in the SUMMER.  Our pool opens Memorial Day wkend.  *happy sigh*

I’m outta here (be home Monday).  Off for more sunshine, friends and tequila.  As it turns out, my awesome husband has decided what keeps me in my happy place is a monthly dose of Roxy, sunshine (our weather has freakin SUCKED, it snowed *again* the other day, wth?!?!) and tequila, sprinkled with a healthy dosage of Yummy.  And of course in turn I have figured out what keeps PC and I happy and getting along as well as we have been recently.  ~wink~

Speaking of Yummy….we had plans for a photo shoot this past week.  Did I get your attention?  *grins*  As sometimes happens, plans change, things come up, whatever.  The night didn’t go quite as planned.  Fun was had into the wee hours of the morning for sure but the pictures I had in mind were not taken.  Damn.  The consolation prize is I did finally take some for TFT though.  Ooooo….hehe (I can picture the hits over there already).  Anyway.  I’m hoping to plan another rendevouz next week once I’m back from my trip so that we might try again. *fingers crossed*
