Shay at The S Spot covered an interesting subject in a post “Blow, Blew, Blowing” that I wanted to bring up here.

She had a friend who felt it isn’t really a “BJ” if he doesn’t cum at the end…. “because it’s just not the same act anymore”.  She questioned if you could still call it ’sex’  if there’s penetration but nobody orgasms?  Her friend wasn’t sure.

In my opinion?  ABSOLUTELY.  I believe the names of those acts are exactly that….of the ACT.  I don’t think there is anything in a BJ or a handjob or fingering/banging or sex that implies the person has to cum in order for it to be called those things.  Sure, the pleasure (often) in giving or receiving one of these IS the O/cumming.  But, truth be told, that’s not always the case.  AND can be actually known as HEY, foreplay.  (~wink~)

A point in case might be to also say- if the sex isn’t enjoyable, is it still sex???  I’m pretty sure those many women out there who have gone through life with out ever experiencing an O will still say they have had sex.  I think the actual ‘act’ of having the big O and cumming IS it’s own identity.

For the most part- VERY. Okay.  So someone needs to send me some *!%*&%$ sun and soon.  We haven’t had any sort of a trace of sun since Thurs.  It’s been raining and drizzly and overcast and foggy and cold and we’ve been socked in for three. days. straight.  I better see some freakin’ sun Monday or I may seriously have a manic depressive breakdown.  Seriously.  Sun.  NOW.  *sigh*

Well.  One thing about the weather being shitty and not feeling like doing much of anything other than remain snuggled up in bed….is the amount of movies you can watch. 

Leatherheads- ~groan~  Dumb. Booooooooring.  Stupid.  George Clooney and Renee Zellweger did an awesome job sucking hugely.  We ALL fell asleep during it.
88 Minutes- VERY good, loved it.  *Great* suspense/thriller.
Then She Found Me-  I can’t stand Mathew Broderick and the way he talks all nasaly, it annoys the crap out of me.  Luckily he’s not in it a ton but still…  I kept thinking I didn’t like it but I also kept getting sucked into it and it was pretty good.  Kind of, eh.
City of Ember- SUPER good.  The kids and I loved it.  A bit like Journey to the Center of the Earth.  Good plot and action packed.

Fuck me if our big dog hasn’t been sprayed by a skunk not once, but twice this week.  It’s her own damn fault too.  Yuck.  Thank god for vinegar.

Hmm…. This is where I would usually write stuff about this past week.  I mean it has been since Monday that I shared anything of significance.  But, um, yeah.  I have nothing.  PC was away on business all week.  It was me and the kiddos.  The weather has been crisp, sunny and quite fall like.  I love this kind of fall weather.  I love running in the fall.  Rythmically breathing in the cool, air…  The crisp leaves underfoot along the trail.  I could run forever it’s fel like the past few mornings.  I love that feeling.

Clarity.  That is what I get when I run.  Usually the end result is me feeling relieved of stress, being able to get my mind off of things laying heavily on it, or maybe thinking about those things but being able to feel better about them at  least momentarily…..  Whatever it is, I gain clarity and always, always feel better afterwards. 

This morning I was running and something popped in my head.  The perfect response to a snarky email I received two years ago.  It was from someone I had thought a friend at one time, had come out of the blue and at the time I was amidst severe emotional stress.  I can’t remember for sure, but I think I just ignored the email.  Dug my hands in my pockets, sighed heavily and buried it in the ’shit I can’t handle right now’ metaphoric category.  But here I am running and *poof*, there it was, so clear and eloquent and perfect.  Damnit.

I watched the Sex and the City movie this past week while PC was out of town.  I was a loyal follower through out it’s TV series life.  I had no idea it would make me cry like it did.  GAH. Maybe it was my previously failed marriage and being able to identify.  Or having just gotten married myself (thank fucking god I didn’t see this movie before the wedding, it would have caused me to be a MESS!)  but lord!  Cry fest.  Oh.  Really, really good movie, though not really sure I loved the ending.

There was a poll taken recently (IDK where, I heard this on my radio station), asking if it’s ok to discuss politics on the first date?

What about religion?

If not, after how many dates do you think it IS ok?

Ok.  So first off.  Two topics I abhor discussing above all others are politics and religion.  They are both topics that people can be or become very passionate about.  As well as quite opinionated.  I don’t love to debate matters.  I would suck in that type forum and generally try to avoid it like the plague…unless it is something I am VERY passionate, opinionated AND knowledgable on.  But there just aren’t very many things I feel that strongly about (ok, PC may disagree on this, lol….he likes to point out how I am one of the most opinionated women he’s ever met…~smirk~ …not sure if that is a good or bad thing….).

That said though.  I do think it’s probably ok to *discuss* either of these things.  The key word being “Discuss”.  Not debate, not try to convince the other person how they are wrong, or how you think your opinion is better but to discuss.  I think two people can form a relationship even if they have entirely different political or religious views/beliefs.  But they would have to be able to respect that about each other.

PC and I are a perfect example.  Religion and his faith are a very important part of who he is.  Me not so much.  I am NOT a religious person.  It is just not who I am…for various reasons I don’t want to get into here.  I have my opinions about religion itself.  As well as ones (fairly strong ones at that) about ‘church’ (*ahemcultsahem* …ducking…)  And I respect that fully about him.  I would never ask him to be any differently.  And he in turn doesn’t ask me to be either. 

Again with the politics.  We are not of the same party (well, that’s not completely true, he’s committed to one party and I am, uh not.  To any.).  He has strong political opinions and once upon a time was heavily active with politics. 

The important aspect is that while we’ll have conversations about these topics he never tries to force it down my throat.  He can be quite passionate about each.  As can I.  But at the end of the day we respect each others opinions whether they differ or are the same.  This is something we discussed and came into agreement on in the beginning of our friendship even.

I guess why I decided it would be an ok topic to discuss on a first date is bc I think how people are able to discuss sensitive topics/subjects says a lot about a person and would be a good indicator to how good of a fit they may be for you, or as relationship material.  Isn’t it better to have discovered this on the first date then later after you have invested time and energy into what you though might be a promising relationship???  IMHO.  Does that makes sense?

So.  What do you think?  What is your opinion?

***BTW….the poll said that the ‘magic’ number for bringing up religion and politics was the third date.

So….  I received a rather scrumptious email a week ago.  With an offer.  Now I get emails from people/companies all the time asking to exchange links.  And most of them I decline, occasionally I accept.  But this particular offer was NOT one I could refuse.  I was offered a FREE rabbit vibrator.  Oh no, you read that right.  In an effort get the word out about their newly launched rabbit vibrator website, they offered to send me any one of my choice (BOOYAH BABY!).

Selling points definitely worth mentioning-

* It has a spring shaft that moves up and down

* And the VERY BEST FEATURE (IMO) is this multi-function LCD control panel that causes this Rabbit to be my rabbit come true ~grins~.  It moves in various, unpredictable directions with different intensities.  It has a mind of it’s own (it’s a bit like being with a partner, lol) and tempts and teases which brings you to a point of such insane intensity.

Only slight downside are two things-

* It did not come with an instruction manual. Now duh, it’s a vibrator, who needs a manual for a freaking vibrator, right?  LOL  But seriously, this one has so many buttons and options (which were all awesome!), it would be nice to know *exactly* what each one does.

I got a new phone.  Sweet!  A Blackberry Pearl in red. This week was all about Native Americans in our household.  Let me explain. The 3rd graders spend their first quarter studying Native Americans.  And the grand finale of the quarter is a week spent in actual Tepees.  Cool, right?  Well, yeah!  I mean they even get to spend a night of their choice sleeping in one with a family member.  And actually, they invite the entire family to spend the night in one.  Cool, right?!  Um….no….not really, not so much.  I’m not a fan of camping (understatement of the year) and when I am forced to do so consider it, it most definitely includes a cooler of ice cold beer and a campfire.

I promised to volunteer but really (really) did not want to camp overnight on the hard ground, freezing my ass off with out my wifi and beer and um, heat in a Tepee.  When I broke the news to her she was….well, horribly disappointed.  And my Prince Charming stepped forward and said he would take her (oh thank fucking god…I love that man!).  She was ecstatic.  Fuck, I was ecstatic.  Long story short- They froze their asses off.  The family who shared the Tepee with them snored like a grizzly bear.  PC was miserable.  SHE was miserable.  They were home by 5:30 the next morning.  With LP in earnest agreement that it wasn’t quite the ‘experience’ the school had made it out to be.  DOH.

….I’m hoping when LM makes it to 3rd grade he won’t be too terribly disappointed when we inform him no way in hell will we probably won’t be spending the night in one of those goddamn Tepees.  (((LM)))
Pffbbttt…whatever.

That’s pretty much it.  We’ve had positively *beautiful* weather this week. I hope it lasts through the weekend.
